IN THE SOLAR THERMAL RENAISSANCE
In 2007, ACCIONA Energía played a leading role in the rebirth of solar thermal energy by connecting the Nevada Solar One plant in the U.S. desert of Nevada to the grid. It became the first company in the world to start up a thermoelectric plant after the projects undertaken in California between 1985 and 1991.
Nevada Solar One was the largest solar thermal plant installed in the world since 1991. It represented the resurgence of a technology destined to play an important role in the U.S. energy system and in large areas of the world with sufficient solar resources.
