- Most of the energy produced will be supplied to the companies DaVita and Zimmer Biomet for a period of 12 years.
ACCIONA Energía has successfully completed the commissioning and start of commercial operations of the Ayora I-II-III photovoltaic complex, with an installed capacity of 85.74MWp, in the Spanish municipality of Jarafuel (Valencia).
The project is supported by two long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with a duration of 12 years, through which most of the renewable electricity generated will be supplied.
The corporate clients linked to these PPAs are DaVita, a leading healthcare provider specializing in dialysis and chronic kidney disease, and Zimmer Biomet, a global medical technology leader. Both companies are thus moving toward more sustainable energy models by reducing their net Scope 2 emissions from electricity use across its operations.
The complex will generate 172GWh per year, avoiding the emission of 75,000 tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere. This reduction is comparable to planting over one million trees or removing 29,000 combustion vehicles from circulation.
The construction of Ayora created up to 250 jobs at peak activity. The complex will also contribute to regional development through fees and taxes, as well as ACCIONA Energía’s voluntary commitment to allocate part of the revenues to community development initiatives that have a positive impact on the local population.
With the commissioning of this project, ACCIONA Energía advances its strategy to offer tailored energy solutions that support corporate and institutional clients in meeting their decarbonization goals. These agreements help maintain a stable volume of PPAs, providing strength and predictability to the company’s business model.
