  • ACCIONA will once more join in the Earth Hour initiative this Saturday 19 March, organized from 20.30 to 21.30 as a gesture of support for the environment and to combat climate change.

The Company will turn out the lights in its seven most representative buildings in Spain, as it did last year, with the aim of defending nature and supporting energy saving measures that alleviate light pollution and climate change.

ACCIONA’s philosophy can be demonstrated statistically: since it decided to put its faith in renewable energies 25 years ago, the Company has avoided 125 million metric tons of CO2, equivalent to the joint CO2 emissions of Denmark, Norway and Sweden in 2014.

The Earth Hour campaign, initiated by WWF in 2007 in the Australian city of Sydney, has expanded in recent years to become a global awareness-raising campaign. It is all the more relevant following the agreement reached at COP21 in Paris in December 2015, which projected a hopeful future scenario for renewable energies.

The moment for action is now. Join #EarthHour #ChangeClimateChange by switching out your lights on Saturday 19 March from 20.30 to 21.30.

This Saturday from 20.30 till 21.30 I'm going to participate in #EarthHour by switching off my lights. Join me!
