ACCIONA Energia announced its plans to expand its energy services operations in France during a speech made by Rafael Mateo, CEO of the company, at the Choose France Summit, a business event to promote foreign direct investment in the country.

ACCIONA Energía entered the French market in 2022 with the acquisition of Eqinov, a company that specialized in services across three main business lines: financing for energy efficiency projects, as one of the leading operators in the French market for Energy Efficiency Certificates (Certificats d'Economies d'Energie or CEEs); energy consumption flexibility valorization, including the remote control of customers' energy consumption and participating in electricity system's capacity and demand response mechanisms; and energy efficiency consulting services through energy audits, implementation of energy management systems (ISO 50 001) and on design, engineering and implementation of energy optimization projects.

The main activities that will be ramped up are self-consumption, energy as a service and energy performance contracting.

Rafael Mateo said that ACCIONA Energía has identified potential investment opportunities relating to energy transition and expects to triple its turnover in the country by 2030. “We are working to increase the range of energy services that we offer in France, as the country stands as a beacon of opportunity in the renewable energy landscape, with its progressive policies and forward-thinking approach,” Rafael Mateo declared.

With headquarters in Paris, the French business of ACCIONA Energía combines Eqinov's energy and decarbonization services with its renewable energy solutions and self-consumption and services projects. The company has a portfolio of more than 3,100 clients in France and a team of 70 professionals across Aix-en-Provence, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, and Paris.
