- €530 MILLION: The transaction comprises 13 wind farms with an average age of 15 years
ACCIONA Energía has closed today the sale of 440MW of wind assets in Spain to independent energy producer Opdenergy –backed by private equity firm Antin Infrastructure Partners– after meeting the relevant antitrust and foreign investment clearances.
The value of the transaction amounts to €530 million.
The 440MW transaction comprises 13 wind farms in the provinces of Albacete, Cádiz, Cuenca, Lérida, Valencia and Zamora with an average age of 15 years. The agreement also includes a portfolio of photovoltaic projects under development, totaling up to 351MWp, linked to the hybridization potential of the wind farms included in the deal.
This transaction is part of ACCIONA Energía’s asset rotation strategy. Since July 2024, the company has reached agreements to sell almost 1.7GW of renewable capacity in Spain, South Africa, Peru and Costa Rica, for around €2.4 billion, highlighting the attractiveness of its assets in the market and strengthening its financial profile.
