ACCIONA Energía has reached an agreement with Mexico Infrastructure Partners (MIP) for the sale of a 49% stake in its 1.3GW photovoltaic portfolio in the United States, together with the full stake in two wind farms in Mexico totaling 321MW, for c. US$1billion (€855 million, equity value).

The US photovoltaic portfolio comprises four solar plants: Red Tailed Hawk (458MWp) and Fort Bend Solar (316MWp) in Texas, High Point Solar Farm (127MWp) in Illinois, and Union Solar (415MWp) in Ohio. ACCIONA Energía will retain a 51% majority stake in the assets and continue to operate and manage them.

The 321MW in wind capacity comprises two wind farms in México: El Cortijo (183MW) and Santa Cruz (138MW), both in the municipality of Reynosa (Tamaulipas).

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals, the fulfillment of obligations relative to the perimeter of the transaction, and the buyer closing its financing for the deal.

This agreement marks further progress in ACCIONA Energía’s selective asset rotation strategy aimed at unlocking value and optimizing capital allocation, while strengthening the company’s financial position. Since July 2024, the company has reached agreements for the sale of almost 1.7GW of renewable capacity in Spain, South Africa, Peru and Costa Rica, for a total value of around €2.4 billion.
