  • Jaime Díaz, business development manager for concessions in North America, took part in a panel discussion at the event entitled “Putting sustainability at the heart of all infrastructure”.

ACCIONA took part in the virtual event “Financing America’s Infrastructure 2020” held from 22 to 24 September and organised by the magazine Próximo.

The event, which featured leading investors and contractors from the region, explored the latest trends in infrastructure financing in traditional sectors such as transport, education and social, as well as in other newer sectors such as smart cities or data centres.

Jaime Díaz, business development manager for ACCIONA’s concessions area in North America, took part in a panel discussion entitled “Putting sustainability at the heart of all infrastructure”.

During the session, they discussed aspects such as the leadership of the European Union, the importance of the so-called “EU Taxonomy” for financing sustainable economic activities, and the “paralysis” in the USA in this field.

Other recurrent issues included the focus on the whole value chain and project life cycles, and the defence of the P3 model as a tool for putting this philosophy into practice over the long-term.

Jaime Díaz also outlined ACCIONA’s strategy in the field of sustainability, the investment criteria of its business lines and their alignment with the EU’s taxonomy, as well as the company’s commitment to financing projects linked to sustainability criteria.
