We were pioneers in 2001, when we built the largest photovoltaic plant in Spain at that time (1.2 MWp) in Tudela (Navarra). Today, ACCIONA Energía stands as a significant international player in photovoltaic solar energy, with 3,933 MW of owned capacity, spread across 40 assets in 9 countries.
We have built and operated some of the world’s largest renewable energy plants in highly demanding environments — from the deserts of Atacama, Sonora, Kalahari, and the Sahara to the snow-covered plains of Ukraine.
In 2010, we became pioneers in Europe by operating the first solar PV plant with storage. A decade later, in 2020, we commissioned Spain’s first grid-connected floating solar plant, located in Sierra Brava, with a capacity of 1.2 MW.
In the United States, we continue to strengthen our renewable energy footprint through projects such as the Red-Tailed Hawk photovoltaic plant in Texas. This large-scale facility contributes to the region’s clean energy supply and reaffirms our commitment to sustainable development in one of the most dynamic energy markets in the world.
