Sustainability and innovation

At ACCIONA Energía, innovation and sustainability are at the core of differentiation and driving change.

We know that competitiveness, globalization and sustainable development go hand in hand with Innovation, making ACCIONA Energía committed to continually striving, earmarking resources and promoting open innovation in order to incorporate cutting edge solutions and working to constantly identify both technological and business solutions that will create value and strengthen our existing business.

ACCIONA Energía's commitment to sustainability is reflected in its policies, which are in line with the 10 principles of the United Nations' Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and demonstrated in its engagement in the achievement of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ACCIONA Energia has an Audit and Sustainability Committee within the Board of Directors.

The economic sphere and good governance

ACCIONA Energía maximises business profitability ethically and responsibly by maintaining excellent quality from two viewpoints: from an external point of view, creating products with high added value and meeting clients' needs, and from an internal point of view, by incorporating excellence into its internal management model.

ACCIONA Energía openly expresses its support and respect for the fundamental tenets of the fight against corruption as laid out in the United Nations Convention against Corruption, by committing itself to working against corruption in all its forms and accurately pinpointing the acceptable risk level, so that those in charge of the different business lines can maximise the company's profitability, maintain or increase its assets, preventing uncertain and future events from negatively influencing target achievement.

The social sphere

We seek exemplary performance in our commitment to people both inside and outside of ACCIONA Energía.

For this reason, we accept, among others, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the ILO Conventions, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the United Nations' Global Compact as basic conduct guidelines and we work to ensure a healthy environment free from discrimination, to attract and foster talent with a long-term vision.

Moreover, social action is engrained in the company's strategy. We have established strategic lines of action through medium- and long-term sustainable projects in locations where ACCIONA Energía operates.

The environmental sphere

ACCIONA Energía's environmental strategy is structured around a commitment to the environment. The fight against climate change, the conservation of biodiversity, the responsible use of natural heritage and resources and the transition to low-carbon business models are part of an ethical commitment and a necessary condition for global sustainability.
