ACCIONA, with the local companies Jardine Engineering Corporation Limited and China State Construction Engineering Limited, has been selected for the design, construction and operation and maintenance of the first phase of the Tseung Kwan O desalination plant.
The plant has a water production capacity of 137,000 cubic meters per day, for 850,000 people. The operation period under the contract is ten years, with a possible extension of another five years.
The project enables the city to meet the challenges of climate change and low rainfall.
