A 64 MW plant located in the Nevada Desert, grid connected in 2007

With its start-up in 2007, Nevada Solar One was the first CSP plant installed in the world since 1991. It represented the rebirth of a technology that was destined to play a major role in the US energy system and many parts of the world with sufficient solar resource. It has a capacity of 64 MW and generates around 136 GWh of clean energy per year, equivalent to the consumption of around 15,000 American homes. It is located in the Nevada desert and contributes to the electricity supply to Las Vegas, 40 kilometers north of the plant.
