The expansion of the Madrid metro includes lines 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and sections 1B, 1C and 2A of the Metronorte.

ACCIONA's experience in the construction of suburban lines is supported by its long and successful career in major Spanish and foreign cities, where in recent years it has carried out large-scale projects.

Most notable at national level is its contribution to the expansion of the Madrid metro, where the densely built-up urban environment has never ceased to present a complex challenge. ACCIONA has worked on the construction of over 48 km of the Madrid metropolitan line, along with almost 40 stations, on lines 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and sections 1B, 1C and 2A of the Metronorte. A total of 31.5 km were executed using EPB tunnel boring machines, 11.5 km using conventional means and 5.5 km in a false tunnel.
