ACCIONA's first solar PV project in Illinois
The High Point Solar Farm is a utility-scale solar project developed and operated by ACCIONA Energía in Stephenson County, Illinois. Built alongside the existing EcoGrove Wind Farm, the project is part of an innovative hybrid renewable energy site that combines wind and solar generation to maximize efficiency and land use.
With a capacity of approximately 127 MW, High Point generates clean, renewable electricity that contributes to the decarbonization of the U.S. energy system. The project also supports long-term energy supply through a power purchase agreement with a major corporate customer.
Designed with sustainability in mind, High Point incorporates advanced solar tracking technology to optimize energy production and includes land stewardship practices such as agrivoltaics. As part of ACCIONA Energía’s commitment to local communities, the project contributes to regional economic development and supports community-focused initiatives through its social impact program.
Local Benefits of Solar Energy
