A 46.5MW wind farm in New South Wales, Australia.

Gunning Wind Farm is ACCIONA Energía’s third wind farm in Australia and has been operational since 2011.

Gunning Wind Farm is located in the Cullerin Range, north-east of Gunning. It is home to 31 wind turbines and is capable of producing 46.5MW of electricity. 

The turbines are located on the privately owned property Walwa, which is predominantly cleared pastoral land. The wind farm site continues to be used for grazing.

  • Project investment: $147 million AUD during construction
  • Jobs: Provides eight ongoing full-time positions on-site, with all workers living in the local region

COMMUNITY BENEFITS

The Gunning Wind Farm Small Grants Program has been in place since 2011. Up until 2025, ACCIONA Energía has provided more than $550,000 in financial support to community groups in the local region which has benefited a wide range of projects.  

In addition, $60,000 has been awarded to local students in scholarship grants since 2013.
