A monitoring and control system developed by ACCIONA in collaboration with Microsoft was chosen by this company as reference case for the global launch of its Visual Studio 2012 suite. The event took place in Seattle ( USA) on September 12th, 2012 . The system is based on tablets that allow operators of photovoltaic plants to control them on real-time from anywhere in the facility. This is the video that was shown at the event held in Seattle.
Almeyda will be completed by the end of 2019 and it will have an annual generation capacity estimated at 167.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh). Located in the municipalities of Chañaral and Diego de Almagro, 17 kilometers from the latter, the Almeyda solar plant will have a peak capacity of 62.1 MWp (54.2 MW rated) and an emission-free power equivalent to the electricity demand of around 80,000 Chilean households.
With a maximum capacity of 186 MWp (150 MW rated) the plants are located in the Benban photovoltaic complex developed by the Egyptian Government. A representation of ACCIONA and SWICORP, headed by their presidents, visited this renewable energy facility, in which around 160 million euros have been invested.
