ACCIONA Energía is looking for an Origination Manager to support our Power Marketing team. This position is responsible for developing market opportunities, managing customer and counterparty relationships, supporting the origination pipeline, and coordinating commercial negotiations for energy, capacity, RECs, structured offtake, and other commercial products. The role works closely with Trading, Commercial and Operations, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to convert market opportunities into executable commercial transactions.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Lead origination activity in U.S. and Canadian markets, including opportunity identification, customer engagement, and development of commercial transactions.
Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale energy market participants, C&I customers, consultants, and other counterparties.
Act as the primary commercial contact for PPA counterparties, coordinating internally with Operations, Legal, Risk, Trading, and other stakeholders.
Identify and develop physical and financial offtake opportunities, including energy, capacity, RECs, hedge products, structured products, and other commercial arrangements.
Identify non-traditional offtake opportunities, behind-the-meter structures, co-location opportunities, and other commercial solutions that may reduce risk or improve asset value.
Lead RFP, tender, and bilateral commercial processes, including bid strategy, internal approvals, submission, and timeline management.
Coordinate commercial terms and transaction agreements in coordination with Legal and other relevant teams.
Support market intelligence efforts, including pricing benchmarks, comparable deal terms, and market conditions.
Support cross-functional initiatives related to new products, market expansion, and portfolio optimization.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies
Qualifications:
7–10 years of experience in power origination, power marketing, structured energy products, or related commercial energy roles.
Proven track record of originating, structuring, negotiating, and executing energy transactions (e.g., PPAs, hedges, structured deals).
Strong understanding of wholesale power markets, renewable energy, capacity markets, RECs, and hedging products.
Ability to assess, quantify, and communicate commercial and transactional risk clearly.
Ability to interpret market dynamics and translate them into actionable commercial strategies.
Familiarity with storage, co-location, congestion risk, REC markets, and C&I structures is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy, or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree a plus.
Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Pay & Benefits:
Base Pay: $165,000 - $185,000
15% Annual Performance Bonus (based on individual performance and company metrics)
