    Adif, one of the major players in electrical energy in Spain, supports the overall efficiency of the Spanish energy market and the maximum social and environmental profitability of the country's railway network.

    In 2012, ACCIONA will supply renewables-based electricity for more than 70% of Adif's HT electricity requirements for managing Adif's numerous High Speed Rail and Iberian-gauge railway lines.

    On the centenary of the arrival of Amundsen and Scott at South Pole, ACCIONA is launching an expedition to Antarctica which, for the first time ever, will demonstrate the efficiency of an eco-efficient vehicle as a means of transport and for taking supplies to the Polar Regions.

    The project aims to lay down the logistics and scientific foundations for developing stable research programs in the Polar Regions and sets out, in particular, to study the effects of climate change.

    With the entry into service of Peña Nebina (Zamora), the company now has 5,976 MW installed in the country for itself or other companies, representing 28% of the installed wind power capacity in Spain.

    ACCIONA currently owns 163 wind parks in Spain with a total capacity of 4,621 MW, almost 22% of the installed capacity in the country.

    The new facility represents an investment of 28.6 million euros, will generate power equivalent to the consumption of 17,000 homes and has created 200 jobs during the construction phase.

  • ACCIONA completes the assembly of three wind parks in Mexico totaling 306 MW

    The company thus consolidates its position as the biggest owner of wind power assets in Mexico, with a total capacity of 556.5 MW and a market share of 65 per cent.

    The new wind parks, located in the State of Oaxaca, will enter service in the next few weeks and represent an investment of over 450 million euros.

    They contain 204 ACCIONA Windpower technology 1.5 MW turbines and will produce electricity equivalent to the consumption of almost 600,000 Mexican homes.
