More than 300 MW in wind power owned by the company

ACCIONA Energy has three wind farms in service in Australia with a total capacity of 302.5 MW. The biggest is Waubra (192 MW), equipped with ACCIONA Windpower turbines. In 2014, ACCIONA Energía built the Royalla photovoltaic plant (24 MWp) for FRV. It was the biggest in the country at the time, and is located near Canberra (TCA). The company is currently building the 132-MW Mt. Gellibrand Wind Farm in Victoria, after having awarded a tender of renewable energy certificates organized by the Victoria's Government.

    WAUBRA WIND FARM

    WAUBRA WIND FARM

The Waubra wind farm entered service in 2009. Located in Victoria, it was the biggest in the world at the time with 192 MW and represented a milestone in wind power development in Australia. It consists of 128 wind turbines of ACCIONA Windpower technology (1.5 MW each), represented an investment of 450 Australian dollars and generates clean energy per year equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 110,000 homes. This avoids the emission of 650,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. The facility is 100% owned by ACCIONA.

    GUNNING WIND FARM

    GUNNING WIND FARM

ACCIONA Energy completed construction work on the 46.5 MW Gunning wind farm in 2011. Located in New South Wales, it is 100% owned by ACCIONA and consists of 31 ACCIONA Windpower turbines. It was opened on July 20th 2012 in the presence of Julia Gillard, Australian Premier at the time. It produces electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of around 23,500 Australian homes, with an associated reduction in emissions of 162,750 metric tons of CO2. It represented an investment of 147 million Australian dollars.

    CATHEDRAL ROCKS WIND FARM

    CATHEDRAL ROCKS WIND FARM

Grid connected en 2007, it was ACCIONA Energía’s first wind farm in Australia. Developed in a joint venture with EnergyAustralia, it has 32 turbines with a total capacity of 64 MW. It is located on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, and produces electricity equivalent to the consumption of around 35,000 homes, avoiding the emission of around 150,000 metric tons of CO2 per year.

    ROYALLA PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT

    ROYALLA PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT

Built by ACCIONA Energy under an EPC contract for FRV, the Royalla plant was the biggest in Australia when it was grid connected in 2014, with a nominal capacity of 20 MW and a peak capacity of 24 MWp. Located near the country’s capital Canberra, it has more than 82,000 solar panels installed on 41 kilometers of fixed structures to generate electricity for around 4,500 homes.

    Mt. Gellibrand Wind Farm

    Mt. Gellibrand Wind Farm

Construction work at Mt Gellibrand, located 65km west of Geelong, is expected to begin in early 2017, with entry into service scheduled for 2018. Once completed, it will generate enough energy to power more than 60,000 households, while avoiding the emission of around 200,000 metric tons of CO2 to the atmosphere from coal-fired power stations every year.
