    ORELLANA CSP PLANT

A 50 MW plant with 74 kilometers of parabolic cylinder mirrors

In 2012, ACCIONA Energy grid connected its fifth CSP plant in Spain ab the third in Extremadura, located at Orella la Vieja (Badajoz). With a capacity of 50 MW, the Orellana plant produces clean energy equivalent to the electricity demand of around 33,000 homes. It captures the sun’s rays in more than 166,000 mirrors installed on a surface area similar to that of two hundred soccer pitches.
